Rehearsals are going well and the music is coming along nicely! Check your practice by using the guide below:

Harry Potter: should be through Measure 37; moving on this week.
Stonehenge: Should be able to play the whole piece at 80% speed
Dragon Dance: Should be able to play the whole piece at 80% speed

This is where we are right now, so if you need any help please email and tell us and we will make sure that you get to where you need to be, remember we perform in May and June so we have a lot of work to do.

REMINDER:
Arrive to practice 15min early so that you will be warmed up and ready to play at the beginning if rehearsal.

Welcome back from break!!

Practices begin again this Sat Jan 7th at 10am
Arrive by 945 so that we can start promptly at 10.

Please refrain from being late to rehearsals and notify the director if you need to be late for a valid reason.

You may miss no more than 4 rehearsals and all rehearsals from April 14th – June 16th are mandatory.

We will begin working on our concert selections on Saturday so everyone should attend.

Sunday Dec 11th
Arrive at Flat Rock Elementary School by 5:45pm for warm-up and tuning

Performance #2
Sunday December 18th
Arrive at Emmaus Christian Church by 5pm for warm-up and tuning

We are having practice as scheduled Sat 11/26, all parts.

Please arrive and set up so that we can get started. Only 3 weeks until performance!

We have this Sat and Next Saturday rehearsals then we perform Dec 11th.

The first practice 11.5 will be at Noon at Sound Movement’s Studio B location.

We will hand out practice and performance schedules
We will go over part assignments
We will hand out music
We will announce 1st Chairs and Concert Master

Percussion- Bring Bells/Xylophone and Crash Cymbal with your mallets as well as your sticks and a Music stand
Strings & Winds- Bring a Music Stand and Music if you have it already

Please arrive at least 15m early to all practices so that you can get set up and ready to play by rehearsal start time.

We will be auditioning orchestra players upcoming on October 15th.

The Concert Orchestra will play grade 1-2 music

The Symphonic Orchestra will play grade 3-4 music

Strings:

Violins | Violas | Cellos | Concert Bass

Wind:

Clarinet | Flute | Oboe | Piccolo | French Horn | Trumpet | Trombone | Bass Clarinet

Percussion:

We will need a select number of percussionists for percussion instruments

Concert Orchestra
One Scale, 2 Octaves if possible
One Prepared Piece of Music

Symphonic Orchestra
Two scales D M, G M, C M; One Scale must be 2 octaves
One Prepared Piece of Music
One Sight-reading Piece (to be administered)

Percussionists
Basic knowledge of rudiments up to the grade of music played
Rhythm Counting (to be administered)
Sight-reading piece (for Symphonic audition only)
